Meet the Envy Medical Team
Arash A. Khazei, Chief Executive Officer
Arash A. Khazei was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Envy Medical in March 2016. Prior to joining the Envy Medical team, Mr. Khazei held the position of Senior Vice President at L’Oreal, managing the financial operation and integration of NYX Cosmetics subsequent to its acquisition by L’Oreal in 2014. Mr. Khazei entered NYX as its Chief Financial Officer in 2010 and was instrumental in the explosive growth of NYX Cosmetics. During his tenure, he helped to globalize the NYX brand in over 40 countries through professional, mass and specialty retailers such as ULTA, Target, CVS, and Sephora. Prior to joining NYX, Mr. Khazei was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of United PanAm Financial Corporation (UPFC), a publicly traded consumer finance company. At UPFC he built the retail infrastructure that facilitated the company’s expansion from 90 to over 140 locations in 70 markets. Mr. Khazei began his professional career working at Arthur Andersen LLP and the Walt Disney Corporation.
Mr. Khazei is a CPA, a Canadian Chartered Accountant, and earned his BA from the University of British Columbia.
Ken Karasiuk, Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Envy Medical Inc.’s Founder, Chairman and COO, Mr. Karasiuk, is the inventor and patent holder of the SilkPeel®, the device that performs the Dermalinfusion treatment. Mr. Karasiuk has a proven track record in both sales management and product development. After serving as an independent distributor for Luxar Laser and ESC Medical Systems, from the very first sales to becoming the prominent leader in laser sales, he then was called upon by a group of private investors to manage a start-up company in the medical device industry, General Project Firenze Italy, to co-develop and secure regulatory approval for the MD Peel dermabrasion device.
It was his familiarity with the aesthetic surgery market segment that brought Mr. Karasiuk to found emed, Inc. Since then, he has transformed emed from a distributor of medical equipment into an innovator in the aesthetic medicine space.
Mr. Karasiuk has successfully pursued several roles in the business world, including the acquisition and management of a $40 million portfolio of diversified real estate properties. He also served as the CFO of a venture capital company (Eurorient Investment Group) that made highly profitable investments in the medical industry. Mr Karasiuk attended J. H. Bruns College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Sona Tolani, Chief Marketing Officer
Sona Tolani leads all the global marketing strategy for Envy Medical. She joined Envy Medical from Dermalogica, acquired by Unilever, where she was Senior Director of Global Marketing and brings more than 15 years of experience in the beauty industry to Envy Medical. During her tenure at Dermalogica, Ms. Tolani was responsible for driving the global marketing strategy for new products and brands. Prior to joining Dermalogica, Ms. Tolani was Senior Marketing Manager of cosmetics at L’Oreal Paris, where she was instrumental in growing the eye category, including mascara, eyeliners, and eye shadows. She began her career in the beauty industry in hair care for salon brand Sebastian International, acquired by Proctor and Gamble, developing new product concepts and initiatives.
Ms. Tolani earned a BBA in Marketing from Loyola Marymount University.
Bob Ingersoll, Vice President, US Sales
Bob Ingersoll leads Envy Medical’s US Sales team for both Dermalinfusion and the full line of Envy Medical’s skin care. Mr. Ingersoll has 27 years of success in building and leading sales organizations, with 20 of those years being in the dermatology and aesthetic market place. Mr. Ingersoll has a tremendous track record of launching new products into the market place. While at Medicis Pharmaceuticals Mr. Ingersoll successfully launched several new products into both the medical and aesthetic market place, changing the way providers treated acne and aesthetic patients. During his career Mr. Ingersoll has had success at Johnson and Johnson, Medicis Pharmaceuticals, Onset Dermatologics and Encore Dermatology. At each of these companies, Mr. Ingersoll has been responsible for building sales organizations from the ground up and has been recognized for his excellence in team building and sales growth. In addition to his successful career in health care, Mr. Ingersoll proudly served as an Officer in United States Army.
Mr. Ingersoll earned a BA degree from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Curt Hanson, Vice President, Global Sales
Curt Hanson leads Envy Medical’s International Sales with over 30 years of experience in leading sales organizations with over eleven years in the dermatology and skin care. Prior to joining Envy Medical, Mr. Hanson spent over six years with Obagi Medical Products, Inc, in the physician-dispensed skin care channel. Mr. Hanson’s global leadership position at Obagi involved directing over 20 distributors in 46 countries. During his tenure with Obagi he opened Russia, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, India and Ukraine. Mr. Hanson also worked for Nestlé for 14 years; his career there encompassed several executive and management positions crossing over into new business segments as well as traditional segments.
Mr. Hanson earned a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Brendon Boone, Vice President, Operations
Mr. Boone has been in charge of Operations for the company since 2006, overseeing its daily business operations, including Customer Support & Service, Warehousing & International Distribution, Regulatory Affairs & Product Quality, and all Manufacturing functions. Mr. Boone joined emed, Incorporated, Envy’s predecessor company, in December 2000, shortly after it was founded.
During his time with the Company he has served in various management and product development roles, and led the product engineering and design teams in bringing both the first SilkPeel® Dermalinfusion® devices and topical solutions from concept to commercial production in 2003. During this time, he worked with various distribution partners in establishing the international presence of the SilkPeel brand while also developing the manufacturing and other operational infrastructures of the Company. He is accredited in various areas of regulatory affairs, quality systems regulations, and good manufacturing practices.
Mr. Boone is also responsible for the commercial scale-up manufacturing of new systems and products, and remains actively involved in the research and development of the company’s many technologies. He is co-inventor on several of the company’s patents and related technology innovations.
Prior to working for Envy Medical, Mr. Boone worked for Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI) from 1997 to 2000, working with leading biotech companies through collaborative development vehicles such as the Human Genome Project, Structure-based Drug Discovery, and others.
